Fourth of July Weekend 2026

Join us July 4th weekend for three nights July 3-5, which includes a curated event with guided hikes, an ice cream social, Saturday BBQ, fireworks and evening s’mores! Get access to five miles of hiking trails on property (in addition to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park).  All meals and beverages are included!*

Charcuterie + Happy Hour

From 5:00 to 7:30 PM, Happy Hour at Elk & Embers is all about savoring and socializing. Gather around complimentary charcuterie boards for two featuring artisan cheeses, cured meats, and fresh, flavorful pairings, all perfect with your favorite cocktail or wine. Whether you’re catching up with friends or unwinding after the day, it’s a delicious way to enjoy the warmth and charm of the mountains.

Ice Fest Weekend, 2026: January 29 – February 1

Enjoy the coolest event of the year at the Visit Haywood Ice Fest Weekend 2026! Spread across 4 days and 5 mountain towns, Ice Fest packs a punch of can’t-miss winter fun. The festivities kick off with a Cool Jazz Concert a HART Theatre on Thursday, then continue into Friday for the Ice Block Party in Downtown Waynesville

 

Inspired by a Song Art Exhibit: January 30 – March 2

In conjunction with HCAC’s Cool Jazz concert, the Haywood County Arts Council’s 2026 inaugural exhibit celebrates the powerful connection between music and visual art. Artists were invited to create works inspired by a song—any song, from any genre—that moves, motivates, or stirs emotion.

 

Waynesville’s Chili Cookoff Stroll: February 28

Brace yourself for a fiery good time during Waynesville’s 5th Annual Chili Cookout Stroll! Sample a spicy variety of chili concoctions from local restaurants and businesses on Main Street, Haywood Street, and Frog Level.

 

Jazz Concert with Mark Henry Ensemble: March 14

Join Lake Junaluska for a free jazz concert by the John Henry Ensemble! This talented group celebrates jazz, gospel jazz, blues, and the music of the Great American Songbook. Dr. Henry is currently Director of the Greensboro Big Band, where he sings and plays bass trombone.
